Reconstruct glTF in Maya
Imports GLB and glTF meshes, transforms, hierarchy, normals, UVs, vertex colors, multi-material assignments, cameras, and supported lights.
A two-way glTF workflow for Maya. Export clean, portable glTF 2.0 files, then bring GLB and glTF scenes back with geometry, PBR materials, textures, hierarchy, cameras, and supported lights reconstructed.
Free / pay what you want. Includes the Maya plugin and installation guide.
Built for artists who move assets between Maya, web, mobile, AR, Blender, and real-time tools without wanting to rebuild the important scene data by hand.
Imports GLB and glTF meshes, transforms, hierarchy, normals, UVs, vertex colors, multi-material assignments, cameras, and supported lights.
Exports triangulated geometry with positions, normals, tangents, UVs, optional vertex colors, and multi-material primitive splits.
Translates modern Maya shading to metallic-roughness PBR and rebuilds imported materials as connected Maya standardSurface networks.
Copy external textures, embed them in GLB, or extract embedded images on import so Maya scenes keep persistent file paths.
Preserves transform matrices and hierarchy, with perspective and orthographic cameras plus point, spot, and directional lights.
Strict accessor bounds checks, clear unsupported-feature warnings, structured reports, and complete Maya Undo rollback protect the scene.
The importer reads standard glTF buffers, embedded GLB images, matrix or TRS transforms, interleaved accessors, normalized vertex data, and triangle list, strip, and fan primitives.
Rebuild usable Maya nodes instead of receiving a flattened display-only asset.
Unsupported data is reported instead of silently disappearing, and failed imports roll back as one Maya Undo action.
A self-contained binary file with geometry, materials, and embedded textures. Best for iPhone, web viewers, sharing, and handoff.
A readable JSON scene plus a binary buffer and texture folder. Best when developers need inspectable, replaceable assets.
Export walks connected shading graphs and prepares the maps glTF viewers expect. Import rebuilds portable metallic-roughness data as connected standardSurface materials with usable Maya texture nodes.
